Abstract EN

Textual coherence is one of the textual elements that frame every text.

For its importance and its role in exposing Quranic text components, the current research selects such topic entitled “Textual Coherence and its Role in Meaning: With Reference to Surat Al Waqia” to show the effect of textual coherence in meaning creation.

The research starts with explaining the concept of textual coherence in language and terminology.

The concept has certain means, of which are logical and semantic relations.

The research then moves to the application of these relations to Al Waqia Surah.

Then, some other tools of textual coherence are applied such as context, overall structure, explaining both in detail with reference to the selected text sample.

These elements are all applied to the sample followed by a conclusion that summarizes all the findings discussed before.

The topic chosen is considered as one of the important concepts in discourse and text analysis.

Thus choosing such a topic is essential in approaching Quranic texts for the textual coherence in relation to Quran is a tool for showing its texture in semantic terms as well as exposing and directing the general meaning of the links and deep meaning formed among the verses.

These relations are differently examined by researchers, especially in terms of terminology.

This is also explained in the current research by referring to concept with more than one specific term.

Context is the concept applied to the sample showing its importance in Quranic context being part of the general context of Quran.

Then the overall structure is applied in that every Surah has its diverse framing dividing it into several structures as part of Quran general framing.
