The paper dealt with the Sultanate of Oman’s position on the Egyptian Israeli rapprochement between 1977-1979, which was represented by President Mohamed Anwar Sadat's visit to Tel Aviv in 1977 and the resulting signing of the Camp David and Egyptian-Israeli peace agreements 1978-1979, this led most of the Arab countries to boycott the Cairo government.

But Oman was one of the few Arab countries that rejected the boycott decision, and that Omani position contributed to the development of relations between the governments of Cairo and Muscat and reaching advanced stages.
