the banking sector witnessed in the arab countries, important developments in the past few years.

It has contributed to the continued rise in world oil prices and increased oil revenues in the boom liquidity at banks operating in the arab countries, major oil-exporting and in particular the banks operating in the GCC.

This research aims to shed light on the key features of the banking sector in the Arab countries during the past few years, before limping to review the most important elements of structural reforms and policies of the Arab countries to open the banking sector to foreign competition, concluding with some remarks about the future challenges facing the Arab banking sector.
