Abstract EN

The study dealt with the issue of promotion in the different legislation in Jordan and Oman.

It focused on the nature of promotion, its significance and its main provisions.

The study concluded that legal provisions, disciplinary issues, and economic conditions may hinder the process of promotion.

Finally, the study recommended that obligatory promotion must be adopted in Omani legislation.

It also made it clear that competitive exams should be adopted for promotions in various job categories in Jordan.
