Poeticism is the elegant speech that delights hearing with its rhythm, provokes imagination with its images, and nourishes the soul with its ideas.

Hence, are these elements achieved in the epistles of Imam Ali? The pages of this research endeavored to answer this question.

It was clear from the letters that these elements were applicable to most of them.

The element of imagination was evident in the metonymic images for its precision, as well as similes and metaphorical images, which indicated that the author has a delicate sense and mastery for the arts of rhetoric.

The element of rhythm also achieved through short sentences ending with one rhyme or by synonymous sentences, as well as through paronomasia and repetition.

As for their meanings, they have appeared clear through contrast and oxymoron; splitting and interpretation; citation and embedment.

Together, these elements contributed to the poeticism of Imam Ali, s messages – peace be upon him– and was the secret of their immortality
