Abstract EN

This study aimed to demonstrate the degree of awareness of the concept of Big Data and its characteristics in the "Egyptian" National Books House Library, exploring as well, the infrastructure, administrative and organizational preparations for managing this data; focusing on its significance and important role in improving the provided services.

The study exposes in addition, the most eminent challenges may encounter this data and introduces the followed methods for its protection using the analytical - descriptive approach.

The study comes to several results, the most important of which are: there are multiple special preparations concerning the infrastructure, and the administrative and organizational structure to be managed within the National Books House Library.

Also, the majority of workers in this library in their different classes are in need to various experiences to deal with amount of data either by acquisition, organization, exploration, and analysis, because the volume of data is constantly increasing, reaching the point of explosion, and that dealing with digital data has become inevitable Therefore, there is an increasing need to continuously qualify them through holding seminars, workshops and training courses regarding their management.

This will help dealing with advanced technologies and encourage their use by decision-makers.
