Abstract EN

The legislation works to fight crime by imposing sanctions as a social response to crime, especially if it is linked to the phenomenon of corruption.

International efforts have been proactive in tackling the phenomenon of corruption which culminated in the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2003, and following the ratification of the convention by Algeria, Law 06-01 linked to the fight against this crime, has been promulgated.

Of course, the Algerian legislator approved the universal principle of the fight against impunity but in the concretization of the provisions of the United Nations convention, corruption is the only crime concerned by the principle of non-prescription as stipulated in the article 8 bis of the code of criminal procedure and article 29 of the anti -corruption law.
