The aim of this study is to question the accompanying texts with both types accompanying the text and the textual context in "Ya Damascus, goodbye" to Ghada Al-Samman; Because of its importance in reading and interpreting semiotics in symbols and indications within reality and imagination, the textual thresholds become a semantic space parallel to the novel according to what the semiotic signs that contribute to opening the text provide us with the mechanisms of reading and interpretation.
