Abstract EN

The purpose of the study is to investigate the phenomenon of speaking anxiety among female Arabic learners as a second language, as well as measuring the level of anxiety according to their study level.

To achieve this aim a common questionnaire was administrated (Hwutiz, 1986) after being adapted to fit the measurement of speaking anxiety.

The study adopted the survey descriptive approach as the questionnaire was applied on (62) learners at Princess Noura Bint Abdelrahamn University.

The findings of the study showed that; students felt the need for additional lectures to strengthen the verbal skills classes with an average of 3.98.

The level of anxiety among the learners varied according to their level of education.

The first level= students were more anxious than students in the second, third and fourth levels as the level increases the anxiety level decreases.
