Abstract EN

The term is the basis of translation studies both theoretically and practically.

Due to the growing interest in translation in the world in general and in the Arab world in particular, many problems have emerged in the translation and that are thoroughly interrelated with the transfer of translational term from its native languages (often English and French) to Arabic owing to the flagrant lack translation dictionaries that tackles the translational term and the ence of a unified terminology.

This creates a terminological disorder to the receiver for we find several Arabic equivalents for one term.

It is thus the purpose of this study to find out effective solutions to this problem by enquiring a number of important questions, namely: What are the strategies used for transferring the translational term into Arabic? How can Arabic translational terminology be unified? The researcher will also shed light on the role of the term in setting up a joint Arab translation project.
