This article explores the concepts and the essence of poetics, which are among the most important topics that have preoccupied the critical thinking since ancient times, starting from Aristotle's book (poetry art) to the contemporary thesis, with the Russian formalists, so, poetics is one of the most fertile critical theses that have required many contemporary literary and critical studies concerned with the concepts of poetics and their applications.

poetics is interested in seeking the rules that govern the literary discourse, and make it distinct from the other kinds of discourse, it studies what makes the literary work a literary work, that is, the literality of work, poetics is an attempt to put a theory to literature, describing it as a verbal art, that is, to establish a science of literature, by elicitating the rules through which the linguistic discourse is oriented toward a literary purpose, it follows the rules of literality in any linguistic discourse.
