Abstract EN

The motivational climate characteristic of sports competition plays a prominent role in determining the athletes' behaviors and their attitudes towards achievement goals, and generates negative emotions in them.

Accordingly, this study, which included judo and soccer athletes, came to examine the significance of the differences between athletes according to their specialization, as well as their perception of the motivational climate in goal orientation and state of anxiety.

The results confirmed that athletes with a high awareness of the competition climate recorded high levels of cognitive and physical anxiety.
