Abstract EN

The "Awllad Al-Imam" architectural compound is located on the western side of the central square in the city center of Tlemcen, in the ancient alley that bears the name “Awllad Al-Imam" which means in Arabic "Sons of the Imam”.

It is a school built by “Sultan Abu Hamo Musa I” next to the mosque in honor of the two scholars Abu Musa Issa and Abu Zaid Abd Al-Rahman, the built for them two exedras (Iwan) for teaching and recitation on the same site, he also built for them two dwellings next to the school.

This architectural compound, of which only the mosque, the minaret, and the courtyard remain, is of historical and archaeological importance and has witnessed restoration work in recent years that resulted in important discoveries at the site.

Through this study, we aim to introduce the personality of the Imam's children, as well as to highlight the architectural and archaeological value of what remains of the architectural complex, as well as to identify the most important discoveries in the landmark.
