Abstract EN
This article deals with the economic relations between Tunisia and Western Sudan during the Hafsid era between the period 1228 and 1574 CE, through which we are trying to show the strength, depth and old economic relations between North and West Africa at the time of the Hafsid state.
We also see the most prominent commercial stations on both sides and their economic weight at that time.
Today, the real importance of reviving these roads and links between North African and Western countries is evident in a world ruled by political and economic blocs.
Islam is considered a party in bringing unity and cooperation between the two sides, and helped the Islamic metropolises in Africa, whether in its west or north, to play a central role in exchanging goods, as well as transferring the various intellectual and political influences between the two sides.
History records that the brightest periods of economic and political prosperity that brought the two parties together were between the 13th and 16th centuries AD.
After this century, stagnation prevailed on both sides because of the entry of new players on the African continent who would have played a role in shaping its features for the coming centuries.
