يتناول موضوع المقال أول شخصية حملت منصب المفتش العام للمباني المدنية "شارل تيكسييه" المكلف بحفظ المعالم التاريخية والمواقع الأثرية في الجزائر و ابرز انجازاته في إطار عمله مابين (1845-1853)م و مساعيه للدفاع عن الآثار الجزائرية بمختلف تحقيباتها رغم أملاءات المسئولين العسكريين و نظرتهم الانتقائية.
تمحورت مباحثه الفرعية حول خمس نقاط رئيسية: بدء بالتعريف بالشخصية و الظروف التاريخية المحيطة بقدومها إلى الجزائر انتقالا إلى المهام المسندة إليه بمقتضى القرار الوزاري الصادر من طرف وزارة الحرب مرورا بدوره في رد الاعتبار إلى الآثار الجزائرية و انتهاء بأثر مهمته على مصير التراث الأثري الجزائري

The article deals with the works of the first person to hold the position of Inspector General of Civil Buildings, Mr.
Texier in charge of the preservation of historical monuments in Algeria, and his work between (1845-1853) his quest to defend the archaeological heritage, despite the restrictions imposed on him by the military officials; This article revolves five points: starting with the presentation of this personality, and the missions assigned to him by the Ministry of War, ending with the impact of his mission on the issue of the Algerian archaeological heritage
