Abstract EN

This article aims at highlighting the efforts of contemporary Arab researchers in visualizing the cognitive and methodological integration between rhetoric and argumentation.

the concept of rhetoric and its relationship to argumentation has remained a matter of difference since ancient times, but many scholars made great efforts in which they attempted to invest theoretical and applied rhetorical topics in the argumentation course, including: Muhammad al-Amri, Abdullah Soula, Abu Bakr al-Azzawi, Rashid al-Radhi, al-Habib Aarab, Abdul-Hadi al-Shahry and others.

this is what we will try to investigate and tackle, by tracking the results of their theoretical and applied researches on the Arabic language in this field.

these researchers attempted to bring the concept of rhetoric closer to the concept of new rhetoric, which seeks persuasion as its main goal.

rhetoric’s aim is to search the use of discourse in order to be convincing, to perform a primarily inferential persuasive function as required by argumentation.
