Alfiyyah Ibn Mālik is one of the most used ancient grammatical texts as a textbook in teaching Arabic Grammar and its rules both in ancient times and present days.

And one of the reasons for that is Ibn Mālik's easy didactical way of organizing grammatical categories and expressing rules, which was reflected in his classifying grammar rules according to different criteria.

Thus, this article discusses in detail how Ibn Mālik put grammar rules into those criteria of abidance in the Alfiyyah.

First, it focuses on analyzing the categories of these criteria and the rules belonging to each criterion.

Then it discusses the terms that Ibn Mālik used in the Alfiyyah for describing the rules of different criteria.

Finally, it tries to find why Ibn Mālik turned to this way to manage grammar rules from the perspective of the features of the development of Arabic Grammar in his time.
