The study is divided into a preface, and introduction and three chapters followed by a conclusion.

The preface addresses the significance of the study, the reasons for selecting it, the methodology of research and the study plan.

Then, the introduction covers linguistic and juristic/legal technical definitions of the concepts evidence and proof, and the religious grounds for its legality.

Then, the first chapter tackles evidence from juristic and legal perspectives, while the second engages the role of qiyafa (primitive method in tracing and proving lineage based on physical features) in determining genealogy.

As for the third chapter, it highlights the role of diverse evidence as proof and the positive evidence-consequent punishment, while the conclusion introduces the key findings.

The study aims at maintaining the effect of evidence in sustaining affirmation and its role as a ground for numerous juristic branches or issues related to the principles of jurisprudence.
