Abstract EN

The present research aims at recognizing the use of Jigsaw's strategy in the acquisition of rhetorical devices among the 5th grade students from the Humanistic branch.

To attain this purpose, the following null hypothesis implies that there is no statistical difference at the point of 0.05 among the average grades of the experiment group that is taught according to this strategy and the average grades of the control group that study the same topic in traditional terms to acquire the rhetorical concepts.

On purpose, the researchers selected “Mohammad Al Baqir Preparatory School” which comprises three humanistic 5th classes.

Class A was deliberately chosen to be the experimental group.

Class B was the control group.

The sample includes 64 students, 32 students in each class.

To measure the level of acquisition for the selected topics, the researchers set a test comprising 51 multiple choice items.

The test was presented to some experts in this field to check its validity.

To analyze its items, the test was applied to a sample of 200 students from the 5th humanistic class.

After checking their responses and doing the statistical procedures, it was found that the items in this test were all suitable.

Then, the test was presented to the two groups.

After checking their answers and statistically measuring their responses using T-test, it was found that there was a statistical difference among the students' average grades on behalf of the experiment group.

The research concludes that adopting the Jigsaw's strategy in teaching leads to a positive level of acquisition in relation to the rhetorical concepts in comparison with the traditional way of teaching rhetoric.

The researcher has recommended some suggestions.
