Abstract EN

The study aimed to : 1-building and codifying the measure of self-confidence among young basketball players in the southern region.

2-knowing the correlation between self-confidence in the skillful performance of young basketball players in the southern region.

as for the research method : the researcher used the descriptive method in the survey method and the standard studies.

as for the sample of the youth basketball players ages (16-18 years) for the clubs in the governorates of the southern region (Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar and Muthanna), the researcher selected the research community in an intentional way.

as for the sample of the research in a simple random way, the number (110) player was divided into a sample of (60) players and an application sample of (50) players.

the most important conclusions : 1-the researcher has come to construct and codify a measure of self-confidence that will serve as indirect measurement methods adopted by specialists in the field of basketball to assess their players.

2-finding criteria (scores and standard levels) for a measure of self-confidence depends on comparing the individual within the group to which he belongs.

3-the existence of a highly significant correlation between self-confidence and frontal correction skill, and this is considered an indication of the psychological side effect on the scoring process, the study included the following : as for the most important recommendations.

1-the possibility of adopting the scale in assessing the psychological impact of the player during the game and the importance of self-confidence for him.

2-emphasizing the interest in knowing the factors that affect the psychological side and avoiding them, and working to increase the player's confidence in himself, through him, to achieve the desired goal.
