In June of 2017, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government Massoud Barzani expressed the intention to hold a referendum on the independence of the territory from Iraq, and saw this announcement and many reactions and positions at various levels of local, regional and international.

And that the mere intention to hold the referendum on secession is a dangerous indicator that requires analysis and revealing the hidden behind the intentions of the territory towards the federal government.

We tried to reach the results of the research by asking a set of questions: Is the motives of separation stem from the Kurdish self, refusing to integrate with other nationalities located on the homeland or because of the policies of successive governments that did not absorb the Kurdish demands and mold within the framework of one nation, Externalism fuels the separation.
