Abstract EN

The Research aims to document the architectural patterns in Dar Shiban, Al-Juah Fort in Al-Silu District, Taiz Governorate.

The study depends on the descriptive and the comparative methodology with existing patterns such as Fils Fort in Sayoun, Hura region in Hadhramout and Rawda region in Shabwa.

They are also described and compared with the ruined architectural patterns whose architectural styles have been identified through rock drawings, such as Qarman House model, Rimat Humaid model, and Jurf Al-Yahudi model in Khawlan.

The Research is divided into a historical introduction, documenting the region of Al-Jawa, its importance, the most important archeological monuments in it, and the location of Al-Dar in relation to the region.

This is followed by an architectural descriptive study of Al-Dar and the fence that surrounds it from all sides and the gates in the fence, as well as the architectural descriptive study of the mosque attached to Al-Dar and the two pools that surround the mosque from the east and west accompanied by paintings and shapes.

The study concludes that Al-Dar belongs to the style known as the castle house, which is a Yemeni style dating back to the pre-Islamic period
