Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to understand the effect of Psychological and social adjustment on of women subjected to marital violence and its correlations with some variants; such as type of violence, education level, occupation).The research relied on analytical descriptive study.

The study sampled women subjected to marital violence in the Wad medani family and personal status court, 200 women were included in the study.

Data was collected using measurement of Psychological and social adjustment and analyzed with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).

The results proved that there were statistical differences in the Psychological and social adjustment on of women subjected to marital violence in the area of the variants (education level, type of violence, occupation).

The study recommended that establish strict laws against all forms of violence to protect woman’s rights, Including woman’s rights in the curriculum at different level, raise social awareness of violence against women issues.
