Abstract EN

The objective of the research is to identify the forms of virtual social capital among retirees in Saudi society.

This research is a descriptive study in which the researcher used the social sample survey method.

The study sample consisted of (167) Saudi male and female retirees.

The results showed that the majority of the sample of the study is the female segment with a university level of education and the most common Internet program that they use is WhatsApp with an average of less than 3 hours per day.

Further, the results showed that retirees in Saudi society have two types of virtual social capital: the bridging virtual social capital and the bonding virtual social network.

These two types are interrelated and complementary, but not identical.

Saudi retirees achieve an increase in their social integration through these types of virtual social capital
