يهدف هذا البحث إلى التحقق من كيفية تمثيل جريدة China Daily الصينية الدولية لأقلية الإيغور بعد أحداث الحادي عشر من أيلول من عام 2001 في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، و هي أقلية مسلمة تتحدث اللغة التركية و تسكن في أقصى غربي الصين تحديدا في إقليم شينجيانغ.
و يصنف البحث ضمن البحوث الوصفية، إذ اعتمد المنهج المسحي، و استخدم أسلوب تحليل المضمون.
و تحددت عينة البحث بالقصص الخبرية التي نشرتها جريدة China Daily على موقعها الإلكتروني باللغة الانكليزية للمدة من 11/9/2001 إلى 11/9/2004، و من 4/7/2009 إلى 4/7/2011 و البالغ عددها (45) قصة خبرية.
و توصل البحث إلى أن جريدة China Daily مثلت الإيغور بطريقة منحازة من طريق ربطهم بالإرهاب و الجريمة و الشغب، و لم تظهر الجريدة الجوانب الثقافية و الفنية و التاريخية لهذه الأقلية.
و بينت نتائج البحث أيضا أن الجريدة اعتمدت في تغطيتها المصادر الرسمية الحكومية على نحو أكبر من اعتمادها المصادر الأخرى.
Abstract EN
The research is aimed at investigating how the Chinese international newspaper China Daily have represented the Uyghurs after sep.11th, a Turkish-speaking Muslim minority resides in the far west of China (Xinjiang ) .
The research is descriptive and it adopts survey method.
The content analysis was used as a research tool.
The research sample comprises the news stories published by China Daily website from 9/ 11/ 2001 to 9/ 11/ 2004, and from 7/ 4/ 2009 to 7/ 4/ 2011 which mounted (45) news story.
The research concluded that China Daily represented the minority in a way that relate them to terrorism, chaos, and crime, while the newspaper did not show the cultural, historical, artistic aspects of the minority.
The newspaper depended on official sources significantly more than other kinds of sources
