Abstract EN

The purpose of this research is to identify the effectiveness of using a proposed teaching model in history based on Accelerated Learning for the development of social skills and self-regulation among Grade Seven students.

The research sample comprised 60 grade seven students randomly selected from Jabir Bin Abdullah Intermediate School, Department of Education in Hafr Al-Batin.

Semi-experimental design of two groups was used; control group and experimental group.

In order to achieve the objective of the research, a unit was prepared according to the proposed teaching model in the form of a student’s activity and the teacher’s guide.

Further, social-skills scale, self-regulation scale and achievement test were prepared.

The research study made sure of the equality of the two groups through social-skills scale, self-regulation scale and achievement and found insignificant statistical differences between the two groups.

The unit was taught for the experimental group according to the proposed teaching model which based on Accelerated Learning and taught traditionally to the control group.

The results of the study show the effectiveness of using such a model on the development of social skills, self-regulation and achievement among grade seven students.
