Abstract EN

The objective of this study was to identify the degree to which male and female teachers of the Arabic language in secondary schools use the elements of active learning.

It also aimed to identify the degree of using different active learning elements by Arabic language teachers in the secondary schools.

Further, the study aimed to provide curriculum designers with information and data which are related to the use of active learning elements.

To achieve these objectives, the analytical descriptive method was used, and the questionnaire was adopted as a data collection tool.

After its validation has been verified, it was used in field application.

This study reached several results.

Among these results is that Arabic language teachers’ use of the reading component consists in asking students to read silently, extract the present, past and imperative verbs, and put them in tables.

Moreover, female teachers of Arabic language use the reading component to encourage the students to practice insightful reading.

The study also finds that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 or less, in the views of the study sample of teachers about the reading element, the writing element, the conversation and listening element, the element of thinking and reflection on the variable sex.
