Abstract EN

This research aimed to explore self-regulated learning strategies by using gifted and non-gifted sample.

In order to achieve the study objective, a descriptive method was used by applying (Purdie) selfregulated scale that was standardized by Ahmed (2007) on a sample consisting of (30) gifted students and (30) non- gifted ones, chosen from a normal governmental school at Hail region.

The results of the study sample showed that self-regulated learning strategies for gifted students, come respectively as follows (keeping records and monitoring, goal setting and planning, rehearsing and memorizing, and seeking social assistance).

Whereas the came in the following order for the non-gifted students (rehearsing and memorizing, seeking social assistance, goal setting and planning, and keeping records and monitoring).

The results also revealed that there are significance statistical differences between gifted and non-gifted students in favor of gifted students in strategies ( goal setting and planning, keeping records and monitoring).and for students who are non-gifted in strategies (rehearsing and memorizing, and seeking social assistance).

In the light of the mentioned findings, a number of recommendations were introduced.
