Abstract EN

The studies of argumentative speech lead to a major shift in the knowledge of the details of this term, especially in its rhetoric that aims to entice the mind of the recipient and influence its behavior.

This is why argument is a characteristic and a function of any speech.

It is a means to achieve specific goals.

Accordingly, argument has been given a lot of concern to explain the way how to convince the recipient within a community or political framework of the author's purposes, after recognizing the nature of the minds to decide the best and short ways of influence on those minds.

The aim of this research is to explain the effect of textual relations of the authoritative discourse and the references of this style, which occupies an important part, on the formation of the mental image of the meaning to the recipient.

Imam Al-Hussein's speech on his way to Karbala is full of religious, historical and literary references that are included in the text as it represents a period that witnessed a series of political events, especially after his intention to come to Iraq in an immortal march, with rich content of his revolutionary trends, which were reflected in his speeches and conversations (peace be upon him), especially in Iraq; which constitutes the subject of this research.
