Since the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussein bin Ali, there were condolences processions established everywhere for weeping him, his family and his great companions.

So, the Hadiths came to support the narrations about crying over the beloved Imam and visiting his grave.

With the passage of time, this atmosphere gradually evolved from the mourning in councils or in private houses into creating public manifestations in the markets and roads, especially at the beginning of the Bowaihi state.

It is noted that Ahl al-Bayt "peace be upon them" have urged their Shiites to revive their story and to cry for the tragedy of Imam Hussein and to visit his grave, but they did not use a specific term or certain title for these rituals, but using instead different expressions and titles to encourage the establishment of sad events and to keep their glare effective.
