Abstract EN

The repercussions of fluctuations in the prices of basic foodstuffs On the size of the food gap in Algeria-An analytical study for the period(2007-2017)-This study aims to analyze the trends in the impact of food products in Algeria as a result of the fluctuations in international prices of basic foodstuffs during the period (2007-2017), which differ between exports and imports, and according to this we asked the following question: What are the repercussions of fluctuations in world prices for basic foodstuffs On the size of the food gap in Algeria during the period (2007-2017)? .

The problem of the study was addressed by adopting the descriptive and analytical approach in dealing with the data of the period (2007-2017).

The study found that Algeria recorded a deficit in the balance of trade during the study period due to its import for the most basic goods whose prices have reached a record global prices, while a limited number of goods are exported and whose prices have not risen significantly globally.
