Abstract EN

In the Holy Quran, Consolation is one of the most important elements of elegy which is used to pacify the troubled hearts and minds of the bereaved in order to protect the Islamic society from disorder and ignorant prejudices.

It has influenced the Islamic literature too.

As knowledge and monotheism can be found in the culture of Consolation and sympathy in Islam and the Sunnah, there are very wise impressive letters and elegies from the Holy Prophet’s household (Ahl al-Bayt) In fact, there are poets who misinterpret some of the verses of the Holy Quran regarding consolation and sympathy with women in which they have underestimated the women’s status.

Islam’s viewpoint on mourning the loss of animals, material goods, and body organs is another issue which has been studied along with some well-known elegies.

It should also be noted that Consolation is of different categories formed based on the culture and beliefs of each and every society.
