The main focus of the knowledge economy lies in the fact that knowledge is the basis of the societal development movement.

Scientific research is the corner stone of this economy.

Therefore, educational research becomes one of the important sources for achieving the requirements of the knowledge economy and its objectives.

However, the educational research in Egypt suffers from a crisis that necessitates a comprehensive renewal in its main components.

Thus, the research aims to provide a number of mechanisms for renewing educational research in Egypt in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy The study applied the descriptive method.

The research shall be made through tracing the emergence of the knowledge economy, its concept and requirements.

Moreover, it tackles the relation of educational research with the requirements of the knowledge economy & diagnosis the reality of educational research to propose some mechanisms to renew Egyptian educational research in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy.
