Abstract EN

Educational institutions in general and universities in particular play a decisive role in transforming any society towards knowledge economy, which in turn lead to producing more intensive products of more additional economic value.

Current study considered the experience of both Canada and Singapore in this field.

In this study there has been more consideration given to the university role in preparing graduates who are enjoying high quality skills, added to the role of scientific research in producing new knowledge.

Accordinglye, there has been more consideration to the institutions of scientific research at the international level, added to the crucial role of knowledge workers in leading the process of transformation towards knowledge economy.

Finally, entrepreneurship has been touched upon as a means that has a role to play in achieving gigantic steps in the field of knowledge economy.

After the analytical comparative study and reaching at the results the researcher presented a suggested view to reinforce the efforts of the Egyptian universities relating to their roles in transformation of Egypt towards knowledge economy.
