The study aimed to shed light on the role of adopting ecotourism to achieve sustainable tourism development, as it is one of the most important foundations for sustainable tourism development, as it works to preserve natural resources and raise tourism environmental awareness among tourists to preserve and sustain them for future generations.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is modeled on the philosophy of sustainability in ecotourism, to achieve growth in national income away from oil, and to transform tourism into an industry of attraction and economic, social and environmental benefits, by reducing the damage caused by the activities of trips and camping, without affecting the pleasure of visitors, tourists and hobbyists.

The "Leave No Trace" program is one of these programs that aims to achieve sustainable tourism development.

The program demonstrated the urgent need to learn how to enjoy the environment without causing its deterioration or destruction, while urging tourists to follow positive behaviors and reject negative practices
