The work presented here is that of the representation that the patient has of his attending physician.
For this, it was necessary to try to understand the way in which the individual constructs the image of the caregiver, to observe what the individual components that construct this image are and to grasp the influence of socio-cultural belonging in the representation of the doctor.
To understand the patient's representation of his doctor, we have adopted the following hypothesis.
The patient's representation (s) of his doctor differs from one patient to another according to two groups of variables: A) The characteristics linked to the patient.
B) Physician-related characteristics.
To verify the hypothesis, we opted for an approach based on two techniques: interview and observation.
From the 60 interviews carried out with patients at Oran hospital, a set of beliefs, opinions and attitudes was identified that constitute the representations of the doctor to the patient.
The interview reveals that the representation (or representations) of the doctor to the patient is organized around the patient / doctor relationship.
This link seems to be the central core in every performance.

Le travail présenté ici est celui de la représentation que se fait le malade de son médecin soignant.
Pour cela, il a fallu essayer de comprendre la façon dont l'individu construit l'image du soignant, observer quelles sont les composantes individuelles qui construisent cette image et saisir l'influence de l'appartenance socioculturelle dans la représentation du médecin.
Pour comprendre la représentation que se fait le malade de son médecin nous avons retenu l'hypothèse suivante.
La (ou les représentation (s) que se fait le malade de son médecin diffère (nt) d'un malade à un autre selon deux groupes de variables: A) Les caractéristiques liées au malade.
B) Les caractéristiques liées au médecin.
Pour vérifier l'hypothèse, nous avons opté pour une approche basée sur deux techniques: l'entretien et l'observation.
D'après les 60 entretiens réalisés avec des malades de l'hôpital d'Oran, il a été relevé un ensemble de croyances, d'opinions et d'attitudes qui constituent les représentations du médecin chez le malade.
L'entretien révèle que la représentation (ou les représentations) du médecin chez le malade est organisé autour de la relation malade/médecin.
Ce lien semble être le noyau central dans chaque représentation.
