Abstract EN

This work aims to highlight the importance of the agricultural sector in achieving economic growth in Algeria, For this purpose, we used an empirical study during the period 1990-2018 using the autoregressive distributed lag-gaps model AEDL.

was used The growth rate as a dependent variable in addition to each of the added value of theagricultural sector as a percentage of GDP as a main independent variable, as well as all ofgovernment spending as a percentage of GDP, Inflation rate and population growth rate as other independent variables.

The results of this study concluded that the agricultural sector positively affects the economic growth of Algeria, but in a very small percentage due to the marginalization of this sector and the flight of qualified labor to other sectors, also, increasing the population growth rate has a negative and significant effect on the rate of economic growth.
