Abstract EN

This study aims to retrace the transformation in the discourse of the current Islamic movements, and the transition of some of its factions from advocacy to political action, where the principle of establishing an Islamic state was abandoned in favor of establishing a democratic state, and from discourse of estrangement to discourse of common thinking about solutions, and working to amend some positions and provisions of social, economic or cultural issues.

Through studying the case of the Moroccan Movement of Unity and Reform, we will try to answer the relationship of the emergence of Islamic movements with the dilemma of the modern state and the emergence of the identity question in Arab Islamic societies.
