Many countries suffer from a chronic deficit in their trade balances, which puts them in the dilemma of external debt and weakens the domestic savings base, and thus constitutes a major obstacle to development attempts in these countries, and many of them may resort to adopting foreign exchange rate systems that allow the use of a rate policy.

The exchange is a tool for countering these trade imbalances.

The aim of the study is to highlight the role and effects of devaluation of the exchange rate on a set of macroeconomic variables.

The study concluded that the technique of devaluation requires the development of a systematic, complete and integrated financial and economic policy in order to improve economic indicators, because there can be a deflationary gap.

It is caused by inflationary pressures.
