Abstract EN

This article aims to present the region of Mitidja and its civilized history in medieval times, based on geographical writings in which we find, unlike other historical sources, a set of texts that can - despite their limitations - to give a general conception of the historical development that this region experienced during medieval times, we find in the geographical sources descriptions related to natural, geographical and urban aspects, and we also find texts on economic conditions, social and even cultural in the Mitidja Region.

Here, we must indicates to the importance of this region; specifically from an economic point of view, considering that the Mitidja plain and its affiliated towns have constituted for the central Maghreb an important source of wealth, in particular wealth and agricultural products, for which this region is famous, where the plain of Mitidja and its cities have played an important role in the agricultural activity of this country, because its geographical location and its natural diversity have made it excellence agricultural region, due to the abundance and diversity of water sources, which positively affects soil fertility and the diversity and quality of agricultural crops.

On the other hand, the central geographical location of the region made it located on the most important roads of the central Maghreb, connecting several of its towns to each other, especially with regard to the roads and paths that connect the east to the west.

and the opposite, in addition to its link with cities of great importance, of which we mention in particular: Djazair Beni Mizghana, Miliana and Medea, which have contributed to its commercial development and have acquired commercial importance for the internal trade of the central Maghreb and even external.
