تعتبر دراسة (تقييم جغرافي لطرق النقل البري الرئيسة الرابطة بين محافظات الفرات الأوسط) من الدراسات التي يراعي فيها الارتباط بين مختلف الظواهر ويعزى سبب ذلك أن هذه الظاهرات لا يمكنها الاستغناء عن شبكة النقل كون النقل ركيزة أساسية في توطنها , وعلى هذا الأساس اختير لهذا الدراسـة خمس محافظات تشكل جغرافيا منطقة الفرات العراقي الأوسط وهي (كربـلاء, بابـل, النجـف, القادسـية, المثنى) ,إذ بلغ عدد سكانها نحو(6850785) نسمة من سكان العراق لسنة (2018), وبلغت مساحتها (98870كم2) من مساحة العراق الأمر الذي رسماتجاها ومسارا على امتداد المدة الزمنية من سنة (1950-2019) ,حيث بلغ عدد طرق النقل البري الرئـيسة الرابطة بين المحافظات أعلاه وبين بقية أجزاء العراق نحو (41) طريقا وهي في تزايد مستمر, وشكلت أطوالها لسنة 2019 نحو(1495.09كم), ألا أنها لاتزال دون المستوى المنشود لخدمة الحركة والاتصال بين الناس , لذلك كان لابد من رسم سياسـة تخطيطية في منطقة الدراسة , فهي بحاجة فعلية لعملية تخطيط يتم من خلالها دراسة الإمكانات المتاحة والاستفادة منها في تحسين الأوضاع الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافي.

The study of (A Geographical Assessment of the Main Transport Roads linking the Provinces of Middle-Euphrates) is considered one of the studies that take into account the correlation between the various phenomena.

These provinces are Karbala, Babil, Najaf, Qadisiyah, and Muthanna), their population was about (6850785) people for the year (2018), and their area is (98870 km2 ) of the area of Iraq, which drew a direction over the period (1950-2019).
The number of main roads linking the above mentioned provinces to the rest of Iraq is about (41) roads and they are constantly increasing.
The length of these roads were about (1495.09 km) in 2019, but they are still below the desired level.
Therefore, it was necessary to draw a planning policy in the study area, as it really needs a planning process through which the available capabilities are studied and utilized in improving the economic, social and cultural conditions.
