The novel ‘Wattan men Zujaj’ ‘A Homeland of Glass' is one of the Algerian feminist novels that shed light on the adversity the Algerian people went through during the black decade of the 1990s ; the decade that led to a tragedy and a destruction.

furthermore, ‘A Homeland of Glass' gives an account for the reasons of the political crisis that could have undermined the homeland of Algeria.

In this novel, through an aesthetic and artistic style, the author managed to depict the harrowing experience the Algerian people were going through.

In fact, the characters experienced anxiety and disorder because of the feeling of terror and loss and the feeling of being haunted by death which resulted in orphanhood and homelessness.

thus, the homeland became a battlefield and was no longer able to bring his children together and protect them.

on the contrary, he kicked them out his boundaries, and the Algerian people started experiencing the feeling of being stranger in his homeland , being lost and being confronted with defeat and death.

this research paper looks at the way the author Yasmina Salah has depicted, in her novel ‘A Homeland of Glass', the homeland of Algeria during the black decade.
