The home quarantine imposed by Algeria, like the countries of the world, as a preventive measure to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection, has affected the Algerian family, as it led to an exacerbation of marital violence due to the stay of the spouses for long periods at home, and in the face of the state of anxiety and agitation experienced by the husbands and due to several psychological, social and economic reasons They are subjected to provocation and verbal violence by wives sometimes, they inflict violence on them in various forms, physical, psychological, verbal and even economic, although the Algerian legislator has imposed deterrent penalties against marital violence, especially after amending the Penal Code in 2015, However, the cases of reporting violence in light of the Corona crisis are very small, for fear of contagion on the one hand, and on the other hand, the forensic services refuse to receive battered women to give them a forensic doctor's certificate except by order of the judiciary for the same reason.
