The paper dealt with the impact of armed conflicts on the principle of freedom of the high seas in light of international changes, and the study relied on gathering information and analyzing it with the aim of reaching realistic and logical results of legal scientific value and coming up with recommendations that are applicable on the ground.

The importance of the study is highlighted by the fact that the armed conflicts, both international and non-international, which take place on the maritime coasts have a grave impact on the principle of freedom of maritime navigation, as the intensity of maritime piracy operations has recently escalated as a result of these conflicts, which has become a threat and a threat to trade in international waters.

This study came to address the problem that the international community suffers from in the contemporary time, which is that armed conflicts and the tension in international relations pose a threat to the principle of freedom of the high seas, given the dangerous and unavoidable consequences of intercepting commercial ships and fishing vessels, the study aims to know the impact of conflicts Armed on the principle of freedom of the high seas.

The study found several results, the most important of which is that armed conflicts have a great impact on the principle of freedom of navigation.

Interception and detention of ships affects the safety of maritime navigation and weakens the confidence of the peoples of the world in the principle of freedom of the high seas.

Based on these results, the study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are considering actions threatening maritime navigation as a war crime according to the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court, the need for coordination between coastal states and states with interests in the Red Sea, to monitor the maritime navigation and suppress the illegal acts that hinder them.
