Combating corruption under public international law

The 1990s witnessed great development in the fight against corruption, and the issue has aroused the interest of academics over the past two decades, and many studies related to the international fight against corruption have been published.

Accordingly, the study aims to shed light on the phenomenon of corruption, which has become a growing scourge in all countries due to its negative effects on the development of societies and respect for human rights, as it is a phenomenon with social, economic and political aspects.

Combating it does not require the concerted efforts of the institutions of one state alone, but rather the necessity of States cooperation, with each other to reduce administrative and financial corruption.

That is why international anti-corruption conventions have raised political commitments to fight corruption, and have defined basic international standards and practices to tackle corruption.

The importance of studying corruption lies in its association with the political, economic, social, legal, environmental, and even ethical problems that this phenomenon causes.
