Philosophy and religion existed to express a natural deficiency from which man suffers, and this deficiency is expressed by Schopenhauer as a "metaphysical need" for truth.

Truth is either perceived by philosophers through an contemplation of existence, or ordinary people find it in religion based on faith and submission.

And because Judaism and Christianity are not suitable as religious metaphysics due to their distortions and errors, Indian religion, in the form of Brahmanism and Buddhism, is considered the most suitable for satisfying the metaphysical need due of its capacity to perceive the reality of existence as it is not as it appears to us enveloped in an illusion.
