Abstract EN

This research targets to make in evidence the importance of economic diversification as a strategic option for the Algerian economy.

The reliance of the country on oil revenues is too risky especially with the actual collapse of the oil prices.

This gives rise to the necessity of the economic diversification in Algeria.

Through our study we noticed that the poor performance of the national economy and the inability of the Algerian government to diversify the economy and getting out of oil dependency, despite the launched development programs that affected all economic sectors.

This is due to the lack of a clear-cut strategy, defined targets, the absence of governance indicators and the weakness of competitiveness.

So, the Algerian economy needs a supplementary effort in which the state plays an important role by motivating and finding solutions that value the importance of industry agriculture and tourism.

Actually they would form the basis of the Algerian economical development.

At the same time the evolution of the infrastructures, exports out of oil, innovation and researches should be encouraged.
