Abstract EN

This study aims to know the reality of foreign trade in recent years in light of trade openness and Algeria's endeavor to diversify its exports, reduce its import bill and revitalize the rest of the productive sectors, and also to know the extent to which foreign trade is affected by changes in the Algerian dinar exchange rate.

The study found that the European Union is the main partner of Algeria in terms of imports.

Therefore, most of the import bill is priced in Euros.

From this, we conclude that the change in the exchange rate of the dinar towards the dollar and the euro does not significantly affect the foreign trade.

Rather, the change in the exchange rate of the main currencies, among them, is the one that negatively affects the foreign trade sector in Algeria
