Societal resilience is a significant element of power for a nation, an important indicator of national cohesion and a strong expression of the State-Nation bond.
It represents the last bulwark of a society, in the face of the panoply of perils that can threaten its existence in times of peace as in times of war.
A society that cannot withstand the shock and get back on its feet again thanks to its capacity for resilience, is called upon to lead a precarious existence.
The COVD-19 crisis highlighted the importance of this defensive capacity, particularly with the failure of national systems for monitoring and predicting risks and threats.
This article addresses the phenomenon of resilience by first dealing with its conceptual aspect.
The phenomenon of resilience is confronted within the framework of this work, with two cases of tests, respectively illustrating a threat and a risk.
The first case revolves around the threat of a thermonuclear attack.
The second case analyzes the current COVID-19 crisis.
At the end, recommendations, aimed at strengthening societal resilience are made at the end of the article

La résilience sociétale est un élément de puissance non négligeable pour une nation, un indicateur important de cohésion nationale et une expression forte du lien Etat-Nation.
Elle représente le dernier rempart d'une société, face à la panoplie des périls pouvant menacer son existence en temps de paix comme en temps de guerre.
Une société qui n'arrive pas à résister au choc et se remettre de nouveau sur pied grâce à sa capacité de résilience, est appelée à mener une existence précaire.
La crise de la COVD-19 a mis en évidence l'importance de cette capacité défensive, notamment avec la défaillance des systèmes nationaux de veille et de prédiction des risques et des menaces.
Le présent article aborde le phénomène de résilience en traitant dans un premier temps, son volet conceptuel.
Le phénomène de résilience est confronté dans le cadre de ce travail, à deux cas d'épreuves, illustrant respectivement, une menace et un risque.
Le premier cas s'articule autour de la menace d'une attaque thermonucléaire.
Le deuxième cas analyse la crise actuelle de la COVID-19.
Des recommandations, visant l'affermissement de la résilience sociétale sont émises à la fin de l'article.
