Popular songs have always accompanied the uprisings and revolutions of peoples seeking independence.

Algeria, like all the other countries in the world, has not escaped this rule.

It all started when F.L.N.

Start the war of liberation in 1954 and the population made up in majority of fellahs dispossessed of their grounds join the maquis.

Leaders in each region appear from the vast popular movement, whose names will remain engraved in the history of the nation and celebrated by the songs of women.

It is interesting to say that these songs were the ideal way for the majority illiterate people, to circulate the news on the combatants and their exploits.

The song of Oued Echouli represents one of those songs of women immortalizing a great martyr in the west Algerian, Rais Benallal.

Les chants populaires ont toujours accompagné les insurrections et les révolutions des peuples en quête d’indépendance.

L’Algérie, comme tous les autres pays du monde n’a pas échappé à cette règle.

Tout a commencé lorsque le F.L.N déclenche la guerre de libération en 1954 et la population composée en majorité de fellahs dépossédés de leurs terres rejoignent les maquis.

Du vaste mouvement populaire, apparaissent des leaders dans chaque région dont les noms resteront gravés dans l’histoire de la nation et célébrés par les chants de femmes.

Il est intéressant de dire que ces chants étaient la manière idéale pour le peuple en majorité analphabète, de faire circuler les nouvelles sur les combattants et leurs exploits.
